When it comes to health awareness, the first thing we typically think about is food. The right types of food can help to nourish our bodies and cleanse us from dangerous diseases and toxins. However, we tend to forget that our own ears need nutrition in order to be healthy.
Now of course, I’m not suggesting that we start stuffing racks of chicken or low fat milk down our ears. On the contrary, it’s the various minerals found in some our favorite foods that help to keep our ears in tuned. Here are some examples…
1 – Bananas
Magnesium is the essential mineral found in this smoothie favorite item. It helps to protect against hearing loss by expanding the blood vessels and improving the circulation within the ears. 2 – Broccoli
You must remember the good old days when you were a child. Sitting down at your table and looking at that green piece of misery. But for some, the day finally came when we realized that our misery became our salvation.
Broccoli is filled with all kinds of amazing nutrients like vitamin K, vitamin C, and fiber. These nutrients can helps stop free radicals from damaging the delicate and sensitive tissue in your ears. Steamed, grilled, or raw, be sure to add this once piece of misery into your diet!
3 - Fish
Recent studies show that the intake of fish, such as sardines, tuna, salmon, and trout, are excellent sources for Omega 3 and Vitamin D. Omega 3 helps to protect the heart and reduce the risk of hearing loss. So grab your fishing rods and head to the lake today. Vitamin D strengthens the middle bones in your ear, which will prevent osteopenia and otosclerosis. Both of these will cause severe hearing loss.
4 – Dark Chocolate
Dark chocolate is an excellent source for Zinc. This mineral is responsible for strengthening the immune system, which in turn guards the ears from infections and improves cell growth.
